A wedding in Marrakech — how it actually feels

Hi Óscar, we’re getting married in Marrakech next year and we’d love to know more about your photo coverage.


We’re based in the US and wanted something a bit different from a traditional wedding. Marrakech just feels like another world — the light, the atmosphere, everything about it.

We’re planning a 3-day celebration with a few different events, all quite intimate, around 50 people.

 

The first day will be a welcome dinner in Morocco with everyone — something relaxed to start the weekend together.

 

The wedding day itself is going to be beautiful. We’ve put a lot of thought into the setting and the decoration, and we’d love to have that documented — but more than anything, we want to remember how it felt. We feel like Marrakech has something truly special.

The ceremony will be quite emotional. We’re planning to read our own vows — things we don’t usually say out loud.

After that, the cocktail will be a moment to slow things down, enjoy the sunset and spend time with our people.

Dinner will probably be a bit more… unpredictable. From what we’ve seen at other weddings, things tend to get a little out of hand in the best way. I think there might even be some kind of fire show.


And then the party - just pure energy, no plans, just enjoying it.

The next day, a pool party will bring everyone back together in a more relaxed way - hopefully without too much of a hangover - and we'll make the most of the incredible Marrakech sun.

And finally, a dinner in the Agafay desert to bring everything to a close.
